It is really hard to find unusual and creative Joomla websites for inspiration.  Since I have been designing Joomla sites I have kept a list of the great joomla sites that catch my eye. These are  some of the best sites on the list.

We find these sites to be very unique and give us great ideas when starting a new site.  They have been helpful to us and we think they will be helpful to you.

Magenta is a real unusual website especially when considering it is a Joomla template. The website is themed around discrimination and is a non-profit organisation. Once you go past the first page of the site you can begin to see aspects of Joomla.

 

Passport to Australia

This super clean site is for the Australian travel game 'Passport to Australia'. This site has a nice color palette that shows off the even better modules and images. A great site to navigate.

Royal Children's Hospital Foundation

A colorful website for the Australian Royal Children's Hospital Foundation. The site makes great use of it's module positions and really escapes that typical Joomla feel that most Joomla sites have.

Folk Bibelskole

Religious based website with a very modern twist. Everything from the fonts, logo, images and colours in this site scream modern and clean. It's great to see a old tradition embrace new design techniques.

Sait Polytechnic

A site that is super packed with information, Sait Polytechnic really showcase everything they have to offer on top of a complex and interesting layout.

Simpatico

Great design firm that seems to specialise in packaging and brochure based design. I personally haven't seen Joomla used in this way before so I had to include it in the list. Really like the Homepage and the changing images.

Yooogi

Yooogi is a Russian site based around fashion. The funky use of colour and images makes this site really stand out. I also like the fly-out shopping cart.

Stereocity

This site has a great grid layout system making the site easy to use. The site uses a lot of images but manages to keep everything in it's proper place without being overbearing.

Mozaic

Moziac is a very clean simple design but I think that's what works for it. It's a modern furniture store and I believe the design showcases that well. I also like the light use of flash to make things pop

Grupa Event

This Events Management website uses a parallax sliding background and what a success it is. They slide so smoothly without taking over from the content whilst giving the site a real luxury feel.
