Sign Up and Account Creation
The sign up was very straight forward and easy to complete. We used a coupon "Joomla25" (should still be valid) to save $25 off the signup. The coupon was applied correctly but did not show in the checkout procedure. We contacted Green Geeks about this and I think they will be updating the checkout procedure.

The whole checkout process and account creation took us less than 15 minutes. And was very smooth

Support
Green Geeks customer support has been excellent so far. We asked a few technical questions and had quick correct answers in a timely manner. GreenGeeks offers Phone, Chat and email support. Phone and chat support is 7 days a week 8AM to 9PM EST. Email support is 24X7X365.

One one occasion we asked a fairly technical follow up question and their support did a good job directing us in the correct direction.

Joomla
The servers are cPanel so Joomla runs very well and no permission issues that you may find with other hosting control panels. Green Geeks also offers fantastico for one click Joomla installs.

GreenGeeks has a good knowledgebase and they are adding more Joomla resources. In speaking with Trey Gardner the owner of GreenGeeks we learned that creating an extensive Joomla Knowledgebase is a top priority.

Servers
GreenGeeks used energy efficient (helps the earth) Quad Core Xeon processors, the disks are configured in a RAID-10 Storage arrays for data redundacy and fast website load times.

Summary
At 300% Carbon Neutral, GreenGeeks is one of the most environmentally friendly hosting companies. Their customer support staff is are all english speaking and located in one of 3 locations in North America. (Chicago, Los Angeles or Toronto) The servers are fast and reliable with excellent uptime. We have been happy with the service we receive from GreenGeeks and will continue to host with them.

The strongest selling point for GreenGeeks may be the excellent customer support. All support staff is are GreenGeek employees and are located in Chicago, Los Angeles and Toronto. GreenGeeks does not have use any overseas outsoured support. In addition to the knowledgeable english speaking technicians are the fast full featured servers and excellent uptime.

If you are looking for Green Hosting GreenGeeks is one of the best.

The thing that won me over with GG is their corporate branding.. i liked their philosophy. I also looked on the net and couldn't find any negative statements. I haven't regretted moving my sites to them and they've been ok. I did have a problem once which kept being bounced from staff to staff and they even attempted it wasn't a problem on their side. However, they did find the problem and fix it eventually. My emails to other folks seems to end up in their junk mail folders quite a lot as well.

All in all, i'm happy with them and satisfied with my hosting for now.

Overall, a good deal, even though I have to use outside hosted email, effectively knocking out my profit on selling email service to my clients.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Over the months I've been using them, I've had about 99.6% uptime on websites, the price is good, and I like that they try to be less environmentally harmful than other companies

Cons

1 - I almost didn't go with them, because they astroturf all over the place - the internet is FULL of fake reviews and fake sites that they put up to promote themselves. It's really pretty slimy because they pretend to be objective third parties.

2 - email service for some reason is terrible - about HALF the emails coming in to my GG hosted domains get bounced; it's totally random...and I am getting spamfiltered a LOT, using domains I've had for a decade and never had a problem with before - must be the GG IP addresses or something about the way they (mis)configure SMTP
